Swift: While statement

This entry is part 4 of 41 in the series Swift

If you are new to Apple’s swift like me, you might not know how to turn on the console to view the output.  For XCode, you can go to View -> Debug Area -> Activate Area.

Here we show how to use the while statement.

import UIKit

var number = 2

while (number <= 10)
{
    print(number)
    number = number + 1

}

Playstation life span

Playstation is releasing an updated console with 1TB of hard disk space.

This is less about 1 year after its release last year.  It is interesting that Sony or Microsoft releases a new console once in about 10 years.  Its life span is so different from a PC where in every 3 years we will have to make a new upgrade.

This led me to think that a standard CPU that powered the gaming console is probably 5 times less powerful than a PC that we are using.

We are probably not ready to buy a console that cost the same as an iMac or PC.

C#: Build the first console application

This entry is part 3 of 71 in the series C#

After you have downloaded the Visual Studio Express, launch it and you will see the screenshot similar to below.

Visual Studio

Now click on New Project….

You will see the screenshot below:

console

This IDE allows us to build C++, Visual Basic and C# program.

Select C# and click on Console Application.

You might also want to rename the application as ConsoleHelloApplication.

You could see that the default code for the console application has already been created for us.

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using System.Threading.Tasks;

namespace ConsoleHelloApplication
{
    class Program
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
        }
    }
}

MySQL Clients: Using the console

This entry is part 5 of 8 in the series MySQL Clients

MySQL provides a command line console and you can launch it from a path similar to below if you have installed WAMP server in  the C drive.

c:\wamp\bin\mysql5.6.12\bin\mysql.exe

mysql_console

You can also find the console at the mini task bar on the bottom right side of the desktop.

Once you have launched it, you will be prompted to enter the root password.  At the moment, there is no password set for my WAMP server.
